Our Team

The team is led by our President and CEO, Mr. Tom Vardy, P.Eng., P.E., who brings over 35 years of experience in tower engineering, inspection and project management. This includes 12 years with the engineering department of a major telecommunications company, where his duties as Senior Engineer included responsibility for new site construction, retrofit of existing sites, inspection and maintenance for an inventory of hundreds of towers. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in Provinces and Territories across Canada and is a long time member of the technical committee responsible for the development of CSA S37, the Canadian standard governing communication towers. He is recognized as a Designated Consulting Engineer in the Province of Ontario and is a member of both the Canadian and American Societies of Civil Engineers. Mr. Vardy has completed several hundred projects across Canada from inspection of towers to engineering and construction of multi-site tower projects.

Varcon is comprised of a group of dedicated, customer-oriented individuals with a diverse background. Our talented team consists of fully qualified professional engineers, technologists and project managers who currently hold memberships in Professional Engineering Associations in all Canadian provinces and territories.

Trevor Bolt, P.Eng. Director, Engineering Senior Consulting Engineer Trevor has over ten years of structural engineering experience working directly with towers and site development. Trevor has completed many challenging tower assignments during his tenure with Varcon, encompassing all facets of the tower industry including inspection, structural analysis, project management, reinforcement design, mount design, guy change outs, etc.

Steven Godbout, P.Eng. Director, Operations Senior Consulting Engineer Steven has over ten years of structural engineering experience working directly with towers and site development. Steven is fluently bilingual and has completed many challenging tower assignments during his tenure with Varcon, encompassing all facets of the tower industry including inspection, structural analysis, reinforcement design, mount design, new site builds, guy change outs, etc.
